Job role

 

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Investment Accountant to become part of our team at our Bucharest office. The individual will be tasked with the responsibility of managing the reporting and accounting of Real Estate Investments held within Property Companies/Holding Platforms domiciled in Germany, in compliance with HGB and IFRS regulations. This role is pivotal to the compilation of quarterly and annual financial statements within the Allianz Group.

What you will do

  • Ensure general-ledger & sub-ledger transactional accounting under German commercial code HGB as well as IFRS and MVBS on Corporate Level, such as distribution, capital calls, deferred taxes, accruals, etc.
  • Ensure sub-ledger entries for financial instruments, mainly real estate funds/participations and shareholder loans or external debt for Holding Platforms
  • Compile journal entries for investment transactions like acquisitions, sales and restructurings and accompany the opening/closing balance sheet set-up
  • Handling the payments and related accounting processes 
  • Acting as Quality Gate by checking and analysing the quality of the entries related to the property accounts done by external servicers
  • Performing of IFRS-/MVBS reporting activities to Allianz SE Group during quarterly closing within given fast-close deadlines
  • Ongoing exchange and cooperation with the tax advisor of the companies, responsibility for deliveries for tax returns, tax compliance and tax reporting
  • Performance of analytical reconciliation tasks within the framework of account responsibility
  • Support the preparation of notifications and reports to the national statistical office
  • Preparation of yearly annual financial statements of Real Estate Investment Companies (GP’s and LP’s)  in accordance with German HGB as well as preparation of IFRS annual accounts packages  
  • Liaison with external auditors for organization and execution of statutory German HGB and voluntary IFRS-audits of the annual accounts
  • Reviews and recommends improvements to the internal control environment in the investment accounting and operations processes.

 

What you bring

  • Strong academic background (preferably Accounting, Business Administration, Economics)
  • Real Estate Sector knowledge as well as expertise on financial instruments in IFRS 9
  • Relevant professional experience in investment accounting and preparation of financial statements
  • ACCA, CECCAR or similar diplomas are a plus
  • Excellent IFRS and German GAAP (HGB) know how, ideally supplemented by knowledge in German tax regime and commercial law
  • Good knowledge of the SAP-Module FI (knowledge of SAP subledger TRM (Treasury) is a plus) as well as high proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel),
  • Fluent in English, German language skills are a plus
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, logical in approach and high attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of numbers and processes
