Hours: Full time and Part time (minimum 4 days per week)

Salary: £26,000 per annum

We are currently looking for qualified counsellor to join our Employee Assistance Program team. You will be home based providing short term solution focused counselling. We provide a 24/7 confidential support service to our client’s employees nationwide. They can call our number to speak to a qualified counsellor about issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice and family issues. Working as part of this team you will provide confidential advice, and further therapy if needed.

Role Responsibility / Overview:

We are looking for Immediate Support Counsellors (ISC) to join our teams. The post-holder(s) will work within our Employee Assistance Provision, supporting both assessment and in-the-moment telephonic support to employees of customer organisations. With robust induction and training, 1 to 1 clinical supervision, case management, peer supervision and monthly CPD programme, you will be supported to grow as a practitioner and individual.

The post holder(s) will hold a recognised counselling qualification at a minimum of Diploma level 4 and be a registered / accredited member of a relevant professional body such as BACP, NCS or equivalent.

The post holder(s) will be required to provide low intensity psychological support options for clients entering the service, including but not limited to CAB style advice and information, local and national support agencies, and a wide rage of internal psychological support pathways.

Vivup will support the post holder to gain a range of skills and experience in the delivery of psychological support, advice, and information to clients of the service. The post holder will undertake initial risk assessments using recognised and validated assessment methodology. The postholder will work a blended role with split time for providing in the moment support calls and structured sessions. Using a stepped care approach, the post holder will triage clients into internal and external services in line with Vivup Clinical assessment and management processes.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post will be home based with a supportive team environment and all equipment and training provided. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of a level 4 diploma in counselling.
  • Registered / accredited membership of a relevant professional body i.e., BACP / NCS. (this is essential to be eligible for the role)
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enhanced DBS (we can process this on your behalf if you do not have this)

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the mental health / EAP field.
  • Experience of providing psychological assessments using validated assessment tools.


Key Responsibilities

The role will involve a range of duties including:

  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
  • Assess and support people with common mental health issues in the self-management of their recovery and triage to internal and external psychological support.
  • Undertake client-centred interviews which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Provide access daily to in the moment support for clients wishing to speak with a low intensity practitioner. This will involve the use of counselling skills, psychoeducation, and assessment.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to The Employee Resilience Company referral protocols.
  • Provide a range of information and support for clients entering the service. This may include self-help CBT and information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media channels.
  • Provide supporting information to managers or other key personnel within customer organisations where required.
  • Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week to minimise waiting times and ensure service delivery remains accessible and convenient.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
  • Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service using CORE-Net as a clinical management tool.
  • Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome data in clinical decision making and onward triage internally and externally.
  • Work closely with other members of the team, ensuring appropriate step-up and stepdown arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach to psychological support.
  • Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process.
  • Always operate from an inclusive values base which promotes recovery and recognises and respects diversity.

Schedule:

  • Full time/Part Time (minimum 4 days per week)
  • Rotational Shifts
  • Occasional on call work (max 3 occasions/year)
