Job description

We request one Software Engineer which time zone is close to US Central time to maximize the interaction time throughout the day with the rest of the team that will be involved in the effort.


Responsibilities will not be only to connect the current data in the PMC to the new dashboard, but to customize the data to serve the OPG Senior Leaders requirements. 

 

Summary: The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications. 

 

Job Responsibilities:  The Capital Project Function has initiated a project to develop an Executive Dashboard leveraging the PM Cockpit (PMC).   OPG Senior Leadership has requested a product to provide real-time, reliable, and automated project portfolio status updates.  Users will be able to clearly see that projects are following the right plan, performing the proper work in the proper sequence, progressing systems completion with quality and are ready for an efficient and effective transition to operations. All these objectives align with the Project Management Product Line’s (PMPL) commitment to functional excellence and efficient project management. 

 

The proposed solution will utilize the PMC’s ability to integrate with established systems of record and producing robust dashboards that follow best practices from projects across Business Units. This integration is designed to limit additional manual work by project teams, thereby increasing transparency of data and efficiency. The Integrated Project Info Visualization (IPIV) team within PMPL will work with the group in charge of developing the Enterprise Executive Dashboard to identify visuals already existing in the PMC that can be adopted, and to work with its own developers to build additional charts that might be required to complete the report.
