Job Summary:
The Sr Underwriting Analyst is responsible for providing critical support to the underwriting team by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of submissions, augmenting data through third-party sources, and assisting senior underwriters in evaluating and quoting insurance risks. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical abilities, and effective communication skills to maintain relationships with agency partners and ensure efficient underwriting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Submission Review: Ensure submissions from agency partners are complete and follow up on any missing or inaccurate information.
Data Accuracy: Validate and verify data provided by agency partners to ensure it meets the required standards for underwriting purposes.
Data Augmentation: Leverage third-party data sources to augment information provided by agency partners, enhancing the accuracy and completeness of underwriting files.
Underwriting Assistance: Support senior underwriters in underwriting and quoting business, analyzing risk factors, and providing input on decision-making as directed.
Agency Relations: Maintain effective communication and relationships with agency partners to ensure smooth submission and underwriting processes.
Documentation: Accurately document underwriting decisions, maintain organized records, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Process Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to underwriting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in an underwriting, insurance, or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, underwriting processes, and risk analysis.
- Familiarity with third-party data sources used for insurance underwriting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and underwriting software.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with insurance agency management systems or underwriting software.
- Prior experience in property and casualty underwriting.
