JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Director, Medical Strategy Execution is responsible for providing support, coordinating and driving key medical strategies and initiatives in partnership with Medical Affairs Head/Lead and the ED, Global Medical Capabilities & Execution. The individual will play a pivotal role in executing the strategic planning process and development of Annual Medical Tactical Plans, Global Medical Objectives, and Strategic department Initiatives. The role is responsible for providing project management including, project timelines, medical resources, and tracks performance and effectiveness for key medical programs that advances the awareness, understanding and credibility of BioCryst’s science. #LI-Remote

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with Medical Affairs Heads and/or Medical Leads to support development of medical tactical plans and launch plans (new indications or molecules); contributing medical program and project management expertise to strategic and operational initiatives.
• Work as a global markets interface lead, aligning and pulling through strategy execution from between global, regional and local teams
• Work cross functionally to drive GMA workstreams and initiatives designed to support evolution of global medical affairs organization and implementation of new capabilities. May work with various groups, including but not limited to: Commercial, Finance, HEOR, Market Access, SDIO, Legal & Compliance, and Corporate Communications.
• Lead the development of an annual strategic plan, as well as a strategy action plan that manages the execution of the strategies.
• Develop and maintain a leadership dashboard to effectively highlight key medical affairs deliverables
• Ensures that field operations are effectively supported, with tools and processes designed to meet the needs of field-based teams
• Creates and delivers periodic training, and communications related to Medical Capabilities and Execution to ensure effective understanding and use of all processes and tools
• Establish appropriate channels of communication to regularly share project progress and performance with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with Global Head of Medical Capabilities & Execution to execute quarterly business review

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


• A minimum of 6-8 years of global biopharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs with demonstrated track record of success. Consulting experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (doctoral degree in a clinical discipline or MBA) preferred
• Strong process, compliance, documentation and preferably project management expertise, ideally at a global level
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in developing and monitoring KPIs and using data to drive decisions
• Experience in Rare disease a plus
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; high prioritization, results oriented, and deadline focused skills
• Self-motivated able to work autonomously and must thrive on challenge; ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Track record of developing systems, processes and innovative digital/virtual channels for scientific communication and analytics.
• Must be able to actively manage and track many complex projects in parallel, structuring the actions of many people toward shared outcomes.
• Travel up to 20%
