Job description

About the Role:

As a People Business Partner, you will work closely with People Business Partners across various business units, reporting to the Employee Advisory Manager. Your role will be pivotal in providing operational advice and support to management teams, ensuring effective people management while achieving strategic business outcomes. You will also collaborate with Strategic Business Partners to implement programs that foster a productive and engaging work environment.

This role offers the exciting opportunity to work on cases at a national level and engage in strategic projects at a local level, with clear career pathways for growth and advancement within the organisation.

What you’ll do:

  • Investigations: Conduct investigations into workplace behaviour issues, document efforts thoroughly, and support managers in implementing disciplinary or performance improvement actions.
  • Return to Work: Coordinate return-to-work plans for employees with non-work related injuries, collaborate with injury management specialists, and contribute to policy improvement.
  • Advisory: Review and analyse People & Culture policies, provide advice to managers on compliance and best practices, and liaise with specialists for complex queries.
  • Change Management: Assist in delivering change initiatives across business units and gather feedback to refine change management approaches.
  • Programs and Projects: Support the implementation of strategic People & Culture programs to address workforce challenges and build sustainable capability.
  • Sustainability: Advocate for sustainability in alignment with business goals, supporting purpose-driven strategies and innovative business models.
  • Employee Experience: Enhance employee experience by understanding perspectives, addressing needs, and collaborating to deliver high-quality services.

What you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or Organizational Development.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a People Business Partner role, preferably within the industrial sector.
  • Proven ability to resolve workplace behaviour issues, manage return-to-work matters, and deliver successful change management interventions.
  • Strong investigative skills, with experience in supporting managers through disciplinary actions and performance improvements.
