Sr Workday Integration Developer – EXTEND & STUDIO

Job Summary:
 

The Workday Sr Integration Developer works closely with HR Tech team SMEs, HR COEs, IT, and key business stakeholders to support a portfolio of existing integrations; design, develop, and deploy new integrations based on technical requirements; and design, develop, test, and maintain custom applications using the Workday Extend platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and build complex, scalable integrations to solve sophisticated business problems for integrating the Workday cloud application with external applications using the suite of Workday Integration technologies (Reports-as-a-Service, EIB, Document Transformation, Connectors, Workday Studio, Workday Web Services API, and Workday REST API)
Support testing of Workday integration code base including Studio, EIB and supporting 3rd party codingAdvise on Workday API capabilities/limitations and supported authentication methods

  • Write and maintain MVEL expressions to manipulate data and automate business logic within Workday Studio Integrations
  • Thoroughly document integration processes, configurations, and MVEL expressions for future reference
  • Deep understanding and experience in Workday Extend architecture, data models, & security to lead the design and architecture of Workday Extend solutions to develop and deploy custom applications and extensions using Workday Extend to enhance the functionality of the Workday platform via extensive expertise in Workday Extend development and configuration (XSLT, JavaScript, SOAP/REST etc).
  • Share up-to-date knowledge of latest Workday Extend features & functionality, ability to recommend best practices & optimize Extend applications.
  • Create and maintain custom business processes, tasks, and event handling mechanisms within Workday Extend.
  • Develop new features and tools that integrate seamlessly with existing Workday applications, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Implement of Workday technology improvements that enable additional business value
  • Lead integration testing activities associated with 2x year Workday releases

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field6+ years of demonstrated ability with data migration, integration development, report building / RaaS, or software development
  • 4+ Years of Experience in Workday environment with a focus on Workday Integrations (Studio experience is required)
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in designing & developing custom apps using Workday Extend is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of cloud SaaS architecture principles and integration patterns
  •  Proficient in building Extend Applications or delivering complex Workday integrations in global deployment environments
  •  Demonstrating strong background and familiarity with: Workday Connectors, EIBs, RaaS, API concepts (SOAP & REST), XML, XSLT 3.0, JSON, oAuth 2.0, encryption/secure transfers methods.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand complex and ambiguous business requirements, translating them into technology solutions
  • Perform solution assessments across Workday integration technologies, which may include technology interactions (e.g. Prism + Studio; Extend + Orchestrations; etc.)
  • Demonstrating familiarity with Workday HCM, Benefits, Talent Management, Compensation and Security configuration or hands-on experience with testing functional aspects of delivered solutions.
  •  Good understanding of security and data privacy standards, data governance and Extend app/Integration systems development standards and best practices.
  •  Knowledge & experience of Prism analytics
  • Workday PRO certification(s) preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Hands-on Workday experience developing and supporting end-to-end Integrations across multiple functions, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, Finance, and Procurement
  • Experience in all phases of the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, launch, testing)
  • Experience in leading a design session, reviewing, and assisting in the creation of project deliverables
  • Advanced skills with RaaS, EDI, Web Services, XSLT, Java, .Net or other integration technology
  • Experience in dealing with XML and JSON data structures
  • Proficiency in MVEL (MVFLEX Expression Language) for writing custom business logic within Workday Studio Integrations.
  • Familiar with XML Transformations, Namespaces, XSD
  • Experience in dealing with SOAP and REST APIs
  • Familiar with ServiceNow case management
  • Adept working with agile methodologies and delivery
  • Effective communication skills in explaining complex concepts in simple terms and understanding HR internal and vendor processes
