At ClickUp, we rely on data to make smart decisions every day. You will play an important part in building and improving the data foundation for actionable insights used across multiple teams, partnering with Product and Marketing.
 
Product events are at the heart of all product and user insights. Our squads rely on accurate and up-to-date data to measure their features' success and to build a better product. An ideal candidate should have experience owning data collection strategy and solutions including designing event collection and using product events. Our event stack is Segment, Amplitude, Snowflake, Tableau, Hex. Similarly, across the organization we collect data from various services and systems that require a champion to manage and drive successfully.

In this dynamic and rapidly evolving digital landscape, the seamless coordination and efficient management of tasks and projects have become paramount. This role will be instrumental in assisting and empowering ClickUp, a cutting-edge productivity platform, to thrive and provide top-notch solutions. While your expertise will be utilized by ClickUp, Deel will serve as your Employer of Record in India. The Role:
In this role, you will lead and own our data event collection strategy, systems and solutions, ensuring its successful execution across products and platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Scalable Methodologies and Best Practices:
    • Establish and document scalable methodologies, processes, and best practices to ensure the long-term success of the data instrumentation and collection strategy and solution.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends, tools, and data privacy regulations.
    • Ensure that the company’s data collection methods remain compliant with evolving privacy laws and industry standards.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with cross-functional business and engineering teams to create and maintain events, ensuring the cleanliness, consistency, and accuracy of data across the company.
    • Facilitate seamless communication between teams to ensure data systems support broader business goals.
    • Partner with business teams to ensure they can track and build their KPIs, enabling self-serve access to critical performance data through dashboards and reporting tools.
  3. Champion Data Integrity & Data Governance:
    • Lead initiatives and establish rigorous data integrity standards and governance across relevant data systems including QA, audits, and alerting.
    • Empower cross-functional teams by providing them with accurate, reliable data that supports confident decision-making.
    • Develop and monitor data systems alerts across key metrics to ensure data accuracy and dive into data issues to address issues.
  4. Product Data Strategy:
    • Collaborate closely with Product Managers (PMs) and product analysts to design, develop, and lead event instrumentation requirements across the product suite.
    • Ensure data collection strategy aligns with business objectives and provides robust, scalable data collection solutions
    • Become the subject matter expert on our product’s data instrumentation, implementing best practices and solutions to capture meaningful user behavior data that drives actionable product insights.
 
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years owning and leading data systems solutions and/or data collection strategy.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building system requirements for product events.
  • Experience with 1 or more event tracking platforms like Segment, Snowplow, or Rudderstack.
  • Expertise in developing innovative solutions for data collection strategy and implementation to enable data driven decision across product teams.
  • Strong collaboration to work cross-functionally across product, engineering, and data teams.
  • Experience building dashboards leveraging advanced segmentation capabilities in web analytics tools such as Amplitude or Adobe Analytics.
  • A strong understanding of software business principles and key metrics in SaaS product.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues using browser’s console, browser plug-ins, and other tools.
  • Comfortable with basic SQL transformations and relational databases.
  • A strong self-starter, operationally-focused; a problem-solver.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
 
Desirable:
  • Extensive knowledge of Segment and Amplitude.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS products and metrics.
