A little bit about the role…
As the Director of Finance, you will be pivotal in shaping our financial operations and strategies. You will provide strategic guidance to senior leadership, ensuring the financial health and success of our organization. This role demands a robust background in finance, a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. The Director of Finance will be responsible for the following:
Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling to support short-term and long-term goals.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to the CEO and senior management.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations on financial performance, cost optimization, and revenue growth strategies.
Financial Operations and Controls
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
Treasury and Cash Management
- Manage the company's liquidity, cash flow, and working capital, ensuring efficient use of funds.
- Develop and execute strategies for optimizing cash management, including investment decisions and working capital financing.
- Oversee banking relationships, monitor banking activities, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Provide guidance and support for professional growth and development.
- Build effective cross-functional relationships with other departments.
We are excited about you because…
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- You bring proven experience as a Director of Finance or a similar senior finance leadership role (bonus points if it was in the startup space)!
- You are proficient in navigating various technologies, including Netsuite, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
- You possess strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and control principles.
- You have a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- You demonstrate expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting that allow you to make accurate projections and drive the organization to its financial goals.
- You are capable of analyzing complex financial data and providing strategic insights that drive informed decision-making and long-term success.
- You excel in leadership and people management skills, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
- You communicate effectively and can present ideas persuasively, influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- You are able to travel monthly and/or quarterly to various locations, including HQ, to support client meetings, attend conferences, and collaborate with team members.
