The Cyber Security Principal Consultant is an advanced technical expert specializing in cybersecurity. This role is integral to shaping innovative methodologies and leading technical work with minimal supervision, act as technical leader for technical discipline within the organization. The consultant is responsible for mentoring and coaching other specialists, generating new technical solutions, and developing high-level industry relationships. This position includes overseeing a portfolio of projects from technical aspects and ensuring their successful delivery.
Key responsibilities:
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
- Provide cybersecurity technical leadership.
- Review and approve critical technical decisions within the cybersecurity domain.
- Oversee and validate the work of colleagues, providing constructive feedback and promoting continuous improvement.
- Teach and share cybersecurity skills with team members.
KNOWLEDGE
- Apply cutting-edge cybersecurity knowledge to analyse complex information in line with standards and procedures.
- Engage in continuous professional development to expand cybersecurity expertise.
- Lead skills development within the cybersecurity team.
PROJECT DELIVERY
- Execute cybersecurity projects within agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Develop innovative tools and techniques tailored to client cybersecurity needs.
- Create new technical solutions and identify best practices from various industries.
BID DEVELOPMENT
- Provide innovative technical inputs, technical methodologies, and manpower estimates to tenders, for unique client solutions.
SALES
- Seek out new business development opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver sales focused technical presentations.
- Support technical sales related meetings as needed.
- Promote Ricardo's technical capabilities both within Rail and cross business unit / practice.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Manage cybersecurity project tasks within assigned timelines and budgets, supervising teams to meet customer expectations.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
- Ensure all client interactions are positive, focusing on continuous improvement in cybersecurity service delivery.
WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT
- Manage utilization forecasts and seek out project opportunities to maintain target utilization and expand knowledge.
- Communicate with Line and Project Managers regarding workload imbalances and share tasks as needed.
- Share work with others when overloaded.
COACHING
- Mentor colleagues in cybersecurity processes and improvements.
- Ensure technical analyses and processes align with company procedures.
- Seek and share new technical ideas within the cybersecurity domain.
Key competencies and experience
- 15+ years overall experience, 10 years related experience in the cyber security domain, minimum 5 years in rail industry field.
- Master at least one of the qualifications: CEH, IEC, 62443, CREST Certifications
- Experience of delivering technical Cyber Security consultancy in multi-disciplined and global environments.
- Appropriate academic qualifications and / or technical expertise to undertake the role.
- Industry Certification on CISSP
- Demonstrable experience in project management and technical consulting/engineering within cybersecurity.
- Highly numerate and analytical, with an ability to translate project and business data into tangible insights and recommendations.
- Good awareness of project management processes and data, able to support others in developing these skillsets.
