ABOUT THE ROLE
A Senior Art Director in Digital Design is expected to possess an aptitude for creating and ideating strong digital and social graphic design concepts. Working directly with the VP, Creative, Copy Writers, Merchants, Buyers, Marketing Teams, and other Creative Team members, the Senior Art Director (AD) must bring to life ideas that support UA’s initiatives and goals. The Senior AD must understand and be aware of UA’s production/design capabilities/processes, and a knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to digital graphic design. The Senior AD must have the ability to multi-task and work with project management to coordinate project flow and deadlines.
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Work in a fast-paced corporate environment, across multiple digital channels simultaneously; communication with team and internal + external business partners; follow up on tasks; project tracking; set timelines + milestones; measuring KPIs; resource planning.
  • Troubleshooting; experience in executing/overseeing production design. Organized, detail-oriented, prepared files for appropriate output to meet delivery requirements; being accountable for the final development and production of creative assets and ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and overall meets or exceeds the design objectives.
  • Must have strong project management skills, the ability to think strategically as well as critically, manage multiple priorities, anticipate demands, coordinate stringent deadlines, and properly estimate time for work.
  • Stay up-to-speed on design trends; research and monitor industry trends + market competitors; research, develop, and deploy new technologies and skills including creative, OS, application, production, management, marketing, and business practices and technologies. 
  • Monthly, semi-annual, and annual reviews and HSLs; manage team timekeeping or invoicing; maintain templates + brand guides; regularly review and evaluate processes, tracking KPIs and optimizing; hold regular team meetings.
  • Produce exceptional creative work; leverage your exceptional eye for creative excellence and your ability to tap into team members' true potential; develop and lead Art Directors and junior designers to create beautiful and functional visuals through graphic design, for multiple digital channels.
  • Uphold UA’s brand identity while pushing the brand forward, act as a player/coach work directly on projects but also be confident to delegate and provide feedback and guidance as necessary; support creative leadership by mentoring and coaching art directors and designers across all initiatives by leading projects and reviewing/provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and cross-functional teams to craft compelling stories through graphics, animation, video, and illustration photography; a taste for high-level aesthetic, concepting/creating work that is innovative and disruptive; playing an active role in contributing conceptual ideas -prepare inspiration for teams.
 
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required for this position. Must demonstrate the ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/Web Design/Fine Arts.
  • 5+ years of experience must be able to maintain and grow a brand's creative vision, and strong retail or marketing graphics experience.
  • 5+ years of experience must be goal-oriented and action-focused, practical, and self-disciplined.
  • 5+ years of experience must have strong visual problem-solving ability, the ability to adapt to shifting priorities, and align activities to meet organizational goals.
  • 5+ years of experience, must possess excellent communication, and presentation skills, and work well within a team.
  • 5+ years of experience must demonstrate leadership skills, proactive thinking, and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • 5+ years of experience, extremely detail-oriented with project management skills.
  • 3+ years of experience must demonstrate leadership skills, proactive thinking, and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • 5-7 years of experience must be able to maintain and grow a brand creative vision, and strong retail or marketing graphics experience through strong layout, typography, photo composition, and mood board creation.
  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator, must be able to maintain and grow a brand's creative vision, and strong retail or marketing graphics experience through strong layout, typography, photo composition, and mood board creation.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Workfront and understanding of web design.
  • Beginner acknowledgment in Adobe Acrobat.
