Job Description

Responsible for all technical activities on the Genesis project. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted practices, standards and compliance with project charters; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participates. Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned project resource personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants and that the requirements of the contract are successfully satisfied. Expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.  Role will be a blend of technical contribution and project management.  Measures of success include: Annual Cost savings, Automation up-time, Project scope, cost and timing adherence.

  • Design/direct/manage projects within Genesis implementation across Aperture Solutions to include capital budget development, capital budget maintenance, and expense reduction projects
  • Coordination and checking of system automation engineering deliverables, includes creating project engineering schedules and forecasts, Monthly project status reports and change order
  • Accountable for the successful completion of projects including: Establish project goals, budgets, timelines, and scope, perform monitoring and trend tracking.
  • Participating in contractor meetings and resolving manufacturing/engineering and management project issues
  •  Participate in Genesis related Automation projects, for plants, including follow-up and involvement from conception to completion
  •  Facilitate the design, purchase, and implementation of machinery and equipment for manufacturing processes, as well as coordinate projects and improvements with plants
  •  Using management skills, establish relationships with vendors to keep equipment updated and current with latest technology and improvements
  • Prepare reports and paperwork as needed to communicate properly all projects with Genesis management and other interested parties to include plants and vendors where applicable
  •  Assure compliance with governmental rules, codes, standards, regulations, and with industry standards. (e.g. OSHA, RIA and other as applicable)
  • Participate in corporate business unit (as applicable) and plant efforts to maintain safe and orderly work environments. Work with plant (or across business unit as appropriate) to foster and develop teamwork in our efforts to be productive and competitive
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Engineering required (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Preferred Software, Mechanical accepted with relevant experience)
  • Two to five years’ experience in Automation, Robotics or Machine Controls corporate and plant settings with a solid, demonstrated record of achievement.  Project management experience is a plus
  • Leads with a positive approach to challenging problems
  • Demonstrated track record of using data to resolve issues required
  • Demonstrated track record of leading projects to a successful outcome is required
  • Track record of developing, troubleshooting and or integrating with machine controls and robotics required
  • Knowledge and skilled in problem solving tools and techniques (8-D, A3, DMAIC, 5 why, etc.) desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming including AB RSLogixs & Wonderware software preferred.
  • Experience with Robotic integration and programming
  • Systems Engineering experience a plus
  • Role requires 40-50% travel with overnight stays
