Position Description

The Clinical Content Pharmacist is a remote role responsible for developing and expanding the delivery of oncology clinical content that supports The US Oncology Network and McKesson.  Areas of focus include management of a large regimen template library, disease and drug reviews for Value Pathways and support of educational programs to advance Community Oncology practice. Additional focus areas include creation and maintenance of oncology content delivered by a clinical decision support tool. The Senior Manager will deliver value by running clinical programs with minimal oversight, contributing to strategic planning and leadership of continued growth of existing and new programs evolving out of business need.

 Key Responsibilities

Clinical Content Development and Analytics

  • Partner with an internal committee tasked with oversight of a large regimen library, developing best practices for safe drug administration in technology and providing education on key oncology drug therapy trends.
  • Create, analyze, and review detailed oncology-based regimen library templates for iKnowMed electronic health record.  
  • Lead creation, updates, and maintenance of assigned disease specific pathways in conjunction with physician committees and NCCN representatives. This includes detailed evidence reviews of primary literature, financial analysis of drugs/regimens and clear presentation to task force members for review.
  • Review and analyze detailed clinical algorithms for decision support tool with both clinical and technical accuracy
  • Utilize medical writing skills to create and maintain regimen-based patient education monographs
  • Lead creation and update of detailed disease-based clinical treatment algorithms and regimen mapping for decision support tool, including review and analysis for both clinical and technical accuracy
  • Develop clinical content in collaboration with IT, clinical and other organization leaders, and stakeholders to meet business requirements
  • Identify new clinical requirements (staging, biomarkers, or relevant disease attributes) and lead notification process to update mapping documents for electronic health record with IT and decision support tool stakeholders
  • Analyze and lead update of metrics for clinical program reporting, including requests for modification as defined by changing variables in oncology care

Project management

  • Define and implement realistic project management plan for clinical initiatives identified for the fiscal year.
  • Lead projects within team and across other business unit teams, regardless of direct reporting status.
  • Lead assigned programs independently, meeting agreed upon goals and milestones.
  • Partner with analytics and operations teams on clinical data reporting quality improvement projects
  • Analyze clinical workflow and data from electronic health record for business opportunities or engagements
  • Create or maintain detailed standard operating procedures for existing or new clinical programs/projects

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Education

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), highly preferred.
  • Post-doctorate pharmacy residency, strongly preferred
  • Board certification preferred, with Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist a plus

Critical Skills

  • 7+ years specific healthcare and/or systems-related experience
  • Active pharmacist license
  • At least 7 years of clinical health care experience; preference is for experience as pharmacist in community oncology, or related space
  • Thorough knowledge of Clinical Oncology, terminology in electronic health records and managing regimen libraries
  • Ability to analyze clinical data and translate clinical information to business-related challenges
  • Competence in communication of complex concepts and business models to variety of internal and customer stakeholders
  • Experience leading multi-stakeholder projects, including client or customer-facing projects
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team within a matrix organization
  • Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and change management skills
  • Expert in business applications and communications through MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams as well as project management tracking through Jira
  • Advanced presentation and delivery skills
  • Excellence in multitasking in an environment of competing and changing priorities
  • Superior ability to work in a self-directed manner while balancing a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands
  • Success managing ongoing relationships, including primarily by remote communications (phone, email, web conference)

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$116,500 - $194,100
