ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Accountant will join a well-capitalized, hyper-growth startup SaaS company that is focused on scaling in the data and security market. We are looking for someone who not only knows and is passionate about accounting but is able to act as a strategic partner and liaison. The Lead Accountant will interact with many parts of the organization, working closely with the Global Controller and Finance colleagues. He or she will also partner with department heads and key executives to ensure timely and accurate responses to accounting-related matters, including interacting with external vendors and customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate all accounting operational functions, including month-end close
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Assess and implement process improvements in Netsuite
  • Prepare internal and external financial statements and ad hoc reports
  • Serve as lead on activities of external auditors
  • Assist in documentation of accounting procedures and internal control systems
  • Own recurring regulatory reporting, including sales tax and various tax compliance
  • Help optimize the day-to-day accounting functions, including: revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, international consolidations, and reporting
  • Manage intercompany accounting for international subsidiaries
  • Assist the financial controller in the evaluation and research of complex accounting matters and transactions under both US GAAP and IFRS and providing accounting support to other business units within the organization on key initiatives and transactions
  • Manage the US GAAP to local GAAP differences for international subsidiaries on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Manage local statutory annual audit and financial statement reporting process and prepare necessary schedules, reconciliations, and analyses
  • Support business growth activities including expansion into new countries, due diligence reviews, and establishment of accounting policies for new entities.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite and coding ability preferable
  • Experience with multinational corporate structures, preferably working in a global organization
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting required
  • Knowledge of monthly close and annual audit of a SaaS software company
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset
  • Relentless pursuit of answers where you get to the root cause of an issue
  • Knowledge of recent accounting guidance like ASC-606
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, written, visual, and verbal
  • Multi-tasking capability, critical thinking skills, and the ability to influence and manage multiple priorities
  • Self-starter with proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory/statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
