Job description

For People is a team of skilled technologists improving government digital services for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. We embed directly in government agencies to modernize software, systems, and platforms so that they better serve people.

Your Impact

You will join a small mission-driven digital services agency to guide and mentor a team of product managers across a diverse assortment of mission-focused government projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping product strategies, modernizing how the government delivers digital services, and ultimately improving government services for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. As a part of our small but expanding team, this role is a key early hire with the opportunity to significantly shape the future of our product management practice. Your contributions will not only grow our capabilities but also ensure that our government programs continue to meet the complex needs of the communities we serve.

Our Culture

For People is a team of humans. We emphasize positive work-life balance, healthy expectations, and making sure our loved ones are taken care of first. That means picking a child up from school during the day or going for a mid-day walk is okay!

This position is 100% remote. Our entire team is remote across the United States, from the West Coast to the East Coast. There will never be a return-to-office, as we have none!

The estimated salary for this position is $150,000 - $170,000.

Your Opportunities
  • Build and develop a product management team that delivers high-quality outcomes for our government partners
  • Develop and refine product management best practices to implement across all of For People’s federal government projects
  • Lead the product management practice area through conducting 1:1 meetings, training, and mentoring skilled product managers
  • Build a product management community of practice at For People to mature our practice for delivering high-quality digital services
  • Help attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of product staff
  • Be the voice of product management on For People’s responses to government procurement solicitations, so that we set future program teams up with tools and frameworks to succeed
  • Work with government leaders to influence how product management should be implemented on current and future digital projects
You Bring
  • An attitude and approach to work that aligns with For People’s values–we work with passion, fun, curiosity, sustainability, humility, and respect
  • Proven experience in product management for federal government programs
  • A keen interest in data platforms and data strategies in government settings
  • Experience leading company functions with a focus on fostering growth
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of directing, mentoring and coaching teams in a cross-matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to navigate complex partner environments and influence top-level decision-makers while staying connected to those closest to delivery
  • A proactive approach to anticipating and planning for change management
  • Deep understanding of the digital services ecosystem, including human-centered design and agile methodologies

If you're passionate about modernizing government services, we encourage you to apply.

Some fine print. You must perform all work physically within the United States at all times. In addition, you must be a United States citizen and be able to pass a background check.
