What You’ll Be Doing

The FCC Architecture team plays a critical role in helping the business achieve success through the identification and execution of new technology platforms.

Technical Solutions Architect will create and maintain architecture plans and blueprints of medium complexity based on established architecture patterns, alignment to target state architecture and enterprise guardrails. The role will provide solutions to manual business processes leveraging organization capabilities: BPM, RPA, APIs, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, AI, Cloud.

  • Develop and assess technical solutions that involve component integration between internal and external vendor systems.  Solutions can be presented at the project delivery team level or at an ARB (architecture review board). 
  • Assist in product/project planning that aligns with architecture
  • Provide leadership in meetings with the business, product owners, technologists and project managers to illustrate tradeoffs, constraints and/or concerns. 
  • Translate technology requirements into solutions and provide leadership to the delivery team. 
  • Liaise and coordinate with broader technology units to ensure adherence to corporate wide standards and strategies. Ensure that architecture standards, policies, and procedures are enforced.

What We’re Looking For

  • Completed University Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 7+ years’ experience within IT, preferably a development background
  • 1+ year in a formal architecture group (ARB, Architecture Review Board) is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to deliver solutions.  The ability to rationalize decisions and reach consensus. 
  • Experience in straight through processing (STP) of business processes in a financial domain:  Client Account Opening, KYC, Account Transfers, Account Maintenance, etc.
  • Significant experience in automation and STP incorporating forms, e-signature, business rules, document management, data warehouses, reporting tools and emerging technologies.
  • Strong technical insight and experience to inform, guide, challenge and support technical decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience with B2B and system integrations using APIs. 
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure and technical stacks: AWS, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS and low-code frameworks.


The Skills We’re Looking For

  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • Architecture framework:  TOGAF, Zachman
    • UML or other standard modelling frameworks
    • Broad systems experience:  IAM, BPM, iPaaS/ESBs, Event Broker, Business Intelligence, RPA, AI, Data Warehouses, Content Management, ECM, Financial Services Applications, CRM, SaaS applications.
    • Foundational knowledge of OO Design, SOA, microservices, JEE, cloud, n-tier architectures, databases, APIs, event-oriented architecture, enterprise integration patterns, cloud and on-prem infrastructure, data architecture.
    • Technical experience in traditional and Single Page Apps, Javascript, JEE, Spring, Oracle, AWS, Oracle, MQ, encryption, network security, SSO, cloud technologies. 
  • Strong technical skills required to prototype and review developer code on an as needed basis.
  • Experience working as a service provider and in a multi-tenant environment.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
