Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

The ideal Collections Lead has Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or payments industry experience in an international company using multiple (9+) billing platforms. The Collections Lead will be responsible for monitoring the accounts receivable aging, ensuring timely and complete collections team located in multiple countries.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

  • Support collection team using multiple software programs (including Workday, Recurly, Salesforce Billing, Chargebee, and proprietary systems) to ensure customer balances are being collected promptly and risks are escalated

  • Coordinate with Client Management (CSM/AE/Sales) and partnership with accounting team as required

  • Monitor and report Collection metrics to leadership and/or other stakeholders

  • Work with Billing team to answer customer inquiries related to invoices

  • Support project to migrate billing activities to reduce the number of billing platforms, including providing feedback to the development and Revenue Operations teams and updating procedures accordingly

  • Develop & support team with growth, cross train and back-up

  • Approval of Customer Refund & dealing with escalated customer issues.

  • Weekly monitor of Accounts Receivable aging to identify collection issues and to action it in a timely manner

  • Work across departments to research and resolve daily payment disputes.

  • Engage with the customer success team on the suspension of delinquent accounts and churn forecasts associated with overdue accounts.

  • Provide monthly update on bad debt / doubtful accounts & statements to customers

  • Prepare weekly deduction reports, check for accuracy, upload and/or take collection action

  • Support audit requirements.

  • Ad hoc projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

  • 7+ years of experience in collections in a high-volume and multi-platform environment

  • 3 years of experience mentoring more junior members of a high-performing, multi-location team

  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles per US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Familiarity with indirect taxes (VAT, GST, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including at least intermediate Microsoft Excel

  • Professional communication skills, collaborative mindset, and attention to details

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment along with excellent organization skills

  • Ability to make sound decisions and take calculated risks

  • Recurly, Chargebee, or similar subscription billing platform experience

  • Workday and Salesforce ERP experience
