Change and Release Analyst

Overview of the Role

The Change and Release Analyst is responsible for analysing and coordinating all changes planned for the staging and production environments. Plans, documents, and communicates clearly with all stakeholders (internal and external) and serves as the primary contact during the planned release process or implementation of changes.

What you’ll do: 

Follow and be an advocate for all agreed change and release procedures for the organisation.

Be involved and contribute to change and release process discussions and suggest ways of improvements.

Working with squads to gather and understand details regarding changes being requested so to prepare release documentation or information of each respective change and share with relevant stakeholders.

Analyse all changes requested, review risk and impact assess all information provided for each individual change, highlighting any possible impact to the players. Ensure stage gate criteria information is followed through and UAT signoff is provided where applicable, to ultimately provide approval for the change.

Manage and coordinate all release activities from initiation through to closure. Release information communication is sent in a professional and timely manner, both to internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure that all the required parties or resources are available for the change / deployment and are aware of what is expected from them.

Be available throughout the planned deployments, lead the tasks to be performed by each stakeholder and communicate status effectively. Take decisions responsibly in a manner to avoid possible disruptions.

Continuously strive to highlight risks and to ensure downtimes are kept to a minimum.

Ensure collaboration with all stakeholders is always at optimum levels.

Follow up any failed changes with a detailed Post Change Review (PCR) document and outline lessons learned and follow up actions.

Ensure any follow up action agreed in PCR is tackled and is applied in following change processes / implementations.

Produce change and release information for reporting as and when required.

Actively participate in Acceptance into Service tasks and other related duties as required.

Attend and contribute to daily stand-ups and other meetings where appropriate.

What you’ll bring: 

Previous experience in projects coordination / planning and IT related tasks.

Understanding of ITIL Service Management applied in an Agile model.

Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Confluence & Jira).
