Marketing Strategist I (Marketing)

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, the Marketing Strategist will lead the strategy and execution of marketing campaigns and projects, support the Director of Marketing in setting program strategy, and contribute skillfully to the effectiveness of the team, helping raise millions of dollars and providing a strong brand experience to all InterVarsity constituents

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a maturing disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ:

  • Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world
  • Model biblical discipleship through all of life

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Set strategy and lead execution of campaigns and projects
  • Develop and manage audience journeys and donor experiences
  • Analyze data and make data-driven decisions
  • Be the primary organizational contact with assigned marketing vendors
  • Increase organizational marketing capacity through training and consulting
  • Help research and/or implement new marketing technology

Campaign Strategist:

  • Develop strategy for multichannel marketing campaigns
  • Oversee execution of marketing campaigns as well as lead generation, new donor acquisition, donor nurture, and cultivation through annual giving program 
  • Monitor campaign results and optimize as needed
  • Design and execute A/B tests
  • Think creatively and test innovative marketing strategies and tactics
  • Analyze results and present reports on campaign outcomes

Contribute to the effectiveness of the team:

  • Collaborate effectively within the Marketing Team, Development, Communications, Ministry Intelligence, Tech, Field Ministries, and more
  • Perform miscellaneous functions of the Marketing Team as necessary
  • Stay current with computer programs InterVarsity uses to support the above functions
  • Attend workshops and classes as necessary

Develop and maintain a funding base:

  • Develop and maintain a personal support team for prayer and financial support through visits, phone calls, and regular prayer letters
  • Raise an agreed upon amount of personal financial support

QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of professional marketing experience required
  • 1 to 3 years of development or fundraising experience preferred
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
  • Experience with Mailchimp, social media, Salesforce and Google Analytics preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A working knowledge of SEO/SEM and paid digital media
  • A working knowledge of email marketing, audience journeys, and personas
  • A working knowledge of targeting and personalization
  • Ability to manage complex multi-channel digital marketing campaigns
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files
  • Ability to take charge of tasks and work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to develop procedures for doing work
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
  • Open to learn new concepts, methods and skills

Pay Range: $44,016.00 - $58,680.00 per year
