As that number grows, we need to bring onboard a Principal Solutions Engineer to help large prospective customers navigate and evaluate our solutions to ensure they are set up for long-term success. As a liaison between customer stakeholders, sales, product, and support, our Solutions Engineering team is a core part of our enterprise go-to-market strategy. Our team is passionate about helping the fastest-growing enterprises in the world design, prototype, and build modern web projects at scale. We are looking for doers and builders - team members who like to roll up their sleeves and get things done. We strongly believe in the value of meeting our customers and partners in person. You can expect to be traveling across our key North American markets frequently.
What You'll Do:
- Build a deep technical understanding of customers looking to modernize their webstack- carrying out in-depth technical discovery and guiding them through best practices of architecting, building, and deploying on Netlify
- Lead complex pre-sales engagements, solution design workshops, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept implementations, ensuring seamless integration of Netlify's solutions into customers' web technology stacks.
- Partner with Netlify Sales Team through the pre-sales process bringing technical expertise and guidance to more effectively qualify prospects.
- Be the voice of the customer and communicate feedback to Product Management, Product marketing, Support and the Engineering teams
- Develop and deliver thought-leadership content, such as white papers, blog posts, and webinars, to share your deep technical knowledge with the broader Netlify community
- Provide strategic leadership and technical guidance to executive-level stakeholders, helping them navigate the evolving landscape of the composable web and headless architectures.
- Collaborate with technology partners to develop joint solutions and go-to-market strategies that enhance Netlify's value proposition.
- Develop strategies to effectively differentiate Netlify's solutions in competitive situations.
What You’ll Bring:
- A breadth of experience in pre-sales roles with exposure to selling developer platform-oriented products
- Ample customer-facing experience engaging all levels of technologists, including individual developers, security, product, & engineering leaders, with the ability to perform technical discovery of customers’ existing architecture and translate it into a modern web stack.
- Expertise in modern web development technologies, including JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and popular front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.), as well as experience with serverless architectures and API integrations.
- Comfortable with the enterprise SaaS sales process & common security concerns of cloud services
- Fast learner, excited & willing to learn new technology on an ongoing basis
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence complex enterprise sales processes, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

At Netlify, we are committed to a compensation philosophy that prioritizes fairness and equity, positions our employee compensation competitively in the market, recognizes and rewards performance, and takes a comprehensive approach to our rewards package. We anchor our compensation philosophy on a market-based approach, therefore salary ranges may differ depending on the labor cost in a particular location. The salary provided is in addition to robust benefits and participation in Netlify’s equity plan. Because this role is eligible to participate in Netlify's commission plan, it is common for employees in this role to receive total on-target earnings of $176,968 - $239,000. Candidates outside the US or in premium markets should consult with their Talent Acquisition partner regarding location-based ranges, as they may be higher or lower than the average US range listed. The starting pay will be determined based on multiple factors, including expertise and skills, market demands, experience, internal equity, and applicable geographic location. These compensation packages and ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
