This is a remote position.

Our client is an agtech start-up that helps farmers to improve animal health and welfare through digital biosecurity technology. 


This new role offers the opportunity for a junior full stack developer to join a growing team on the ground-floor and help them to become the software platform of choice for protecting animal health and increasing the sustainability of the animal protein industry. 

Role Overview: 

Our client is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer with 2+ years of experience to join their team based out of the Guelph, Ontario area. In this role you'll build fully-fledged platforms using a range of different technologies. You'll be involved in the entire product development lifecycle including the design, development, deployment and maintenance of new and existing features. You'll write clean and functional code on the front- and back-end. You'll collaborate closely with the development team to ensure system consistency and to create a great user experience. You'll write reusable and maintainable code. You'll optimize web design for mobile for maximum speed. Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on the stability and user experience of our client’s products. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions 
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture 
  • Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design 
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications 
  • Write effective APIs 
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency 
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software 
  • Create security and data protection settings 
  • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design 
  • Write technical documentation 

Qualifications: 

Required technical skills and experience for this role are: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field 
  • Exposure to .NET Core 
  • Experience with cloud architecture (Microsoft Azure including Azure SQL Server PaaS) 


It will be great if you also have experience in a few of these areas: 

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role (minimum 2 years experience) 
  • You're comfortable working with both front- and back-end languages.  
  • Experience developing desktop and mobile applications 
  • Knowledge of C# and .NET and modern JavaScript frameworks (like Angular, React, and Vue). 
  • Experience working with front-end languages and libraries (like HTML, CSS and JavaScript). 
  • Familiarity with databases (like MySQL or MSSQL) and UI/UX design. 
  • Ideally, some experience with a cloud platform (Microsoft Azure). 
  • You have experience with testing and debugging. 
  • An eye for layout aesthetics. 
  • You're analytical and good at time management. 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Curiosity about new technologies and you're excited to find ways to implement them in your work. 
  • A big appetite to learn and improve your skills. 

 

Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000
