*This is a hybrid position in Kelowna, BC.

This dynamic and growing digital subscription-based meal planning platform aims to simplify and revolutionize home-cooked meals. Founded by a Registered Dietitian, the platform provides wholesome recipes, customizable meal plans, and streamlined grocery lists to make it easier for families to enjoy healthy, home-cooked meals without the stress of meal planning. Members save time and energy while taking the guesswork out of “what’s for dinner.”

Based in Kelowna, BC, this small but expanding team is on a mission to make life more beautiful, simple, and healthy through a variety of platforms, including blogs, cookbooks, social media, and the meal planning service. The company is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Full Stack Developer with an entrepreneurial mindset to join the team. As the lead software developer, you will be responsible for planning, coding, and testing new features for their subscription-based platform. You will lay the technological foundation for scalability, enabling the development team to grow as the business expands. This role offers the opportunity to significantly influence the growth and success of an innovative meal planning service.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with leadership to build and manage a product roadmap that aligns with the business’s strategic goals.
Execute projects on the product roadmap efficiently and effectively.
Build and manage a technical roadmap to support product development and scalability.
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable software solutions for the platform.
Work across the full software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, monitoring, and sunsetting features.
Champion the growth and development of in-house technology, driving innovation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

2-3 years of experience as a senior software developer.
Experience with major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP); certifications are a plus.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
Strong knowledge of back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Python) and technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and ORM frameworks.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform.
Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.

Bonus Skills:

Experience with Bubble.io.
Passion for food and cooking.
Experience developing software with integrated LLMs.
