Your missions

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist who will support our Digital Transformation initiatives with insights gained from analyzing company data.

The right candidate will have a passion for delivering business intelligence and discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is adept at extracting, cleaning, sorting and using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test and predict outcomes. Having experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations is a plus.

Responsibilities for Junior Data Scientist

Responsible for the design and delivery of reports and insights for performance metrics to support business units across the organization
Analyze and report data from the company’s data architecture for consumption of various stakeholders
Work with stakeholders to help in exploring and visualizing data from multiple data sources
Review and flag inconsistencies in data and visualizations for review
Extract, clean and load data to the Data Warehouse for use in the Business Intelligence and Data Science tools
Mine, analyze, report and model data from the company data lake and warehouse

Qualifications for Junior Data Scientist

Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
Experience working with and creating data architectures.

Requirements

BA/BS (M.S. or Ph.D. is a plus) in statistics, computer science, social sciences, or another quantitative subject area (such as physics, computational biology, sociology, cognitive science, political science, etc.) is a plus
We’re looking for someone familiar with / having the potential to learn the following software/tools:
Coding knowledge and experience with programming in python or comparable languages.
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques:

GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.

Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ, etc.

Experience visualizing and presenting data for stakeholders using a data visualization tool: AWS Quicksight, Tableau, PowerBI, Google Data Studio.

AWS Data Analytics tools: Athena, Glue, etc.
