Job description

Purpose and Scope

The Associate Director Supply Chain is responsible for setting the master production schedule, overseeing and coordinating scheduling activities across multiple projects and departments within the organization to meet the schedule created, collecting and incorporating all demand forecasts from customers, ensuring alignment to the established schedule and serving as the Subject Matter Expert of the planning software.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the timely and efficient delivery of products by developing and maintaining schedules, monitoring progress, and identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules as required and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely release of product.
  • Collaborate with project managers and department heads to understand the scope and requirements of each project.
  • Lead the resolution of planning IT issues in collaboration with peers, and IT vendor as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to project management and scheduling.
  • Perform day-to-day management of customer relationships for supply of commercial product.
  • Conduct recurring conference calls with Marketing Partners and Strategic Alliance team to ensure product supply plan is appropriate and to address issues related to supply.
  • Maintain and present metrics to Senior Management illustrating status of orders and supply strategy with Marketing Partners and customers.
  • Receive and analyze forecast data from Marketing Partners and/or Strategic Alliance teams and incorporate into forecasting tools and S&OP process.
  • Maintain data in order to aggregate future requirements to ensure manufacturing capacity is sufficient for needs and influence changes to manufacturing capacity, as needed.
  • Manage product configuration changes from a supply chain perspective with other departments and with Marketing Partners, as needed.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance to ensure materials and components are available in advance of manufacturing needs.
  • Strategize and coordinate with Project Team(s), Purchasing, Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure product sustainment and product improvement changes are prioritized with regard to compliance requirements while maximizing impact to Tolmar growth.
  • Ensure product changes are made in compliance with Tolmar Design Transfer requirements.
  • Ensure production documentation is created in time to support implementation of changes and in compliance with Regulatory approvals.
  • Complete special projects as directed and perform various other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and other regulations pertinent to manufacturing pharmaceutical products.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to interpret MRP (Material Requirement Planning) information.
  • Excellent managerial skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff in order to develop skills and competencies required to meet business needs.
  • Strong computer skills necessary – MS Word, Excel, Smartsheet, etc. with previous ERP/MRP experience.
  • Ability to communicate, cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization, including presenting to Executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence others to achieve divisional and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business or related field required.
  • 8 or more years of experience in the manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry.
  • 5 or more years of experience in complex scheduling and supply chain operations with added skills in problem solving and project management.
  • Previous managerial experience strongly preferred.
