Position Summary:

The Online Core Faculty position is a full-time employment opportunity. The Online Full-Time Faculty member performs duties relating to online instruction including but not limited to: posting faculty guidance and expectations, participating in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments, and promptly responding to student inquiries.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Instruct classes and adhere to all faculty requirements such as facilitating and engaging in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner

  • Develop courses in 5-week formats and in online delivery modalities

  • Participate in the curriculum review and development process. Develop new courses & emphasis

  • Collaborate within the University clubs and community to ensure a positive overall experience for all University students, including the following: the Office of Access and Wellness to holistically support student success in the classroom by implementing university-approved accommodations, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to foster professional growth as it relates to successful teaching for the UAGC student population, and the Student Records department to maintain timely and accurate student records

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty in support of student success and progression in the degree program

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in using current technology (cross platform development, PWA, etc.)

  • Experience in modern software engineering methodologies (DevOps, Rapid, Agile, etc.)

  • Experience in using current technology ( PWA, Web3.0, Metaverse, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer & Information System Engineering or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent industry experience as a Software Engineer

  • Experience teaching in the Online classroom, and proficiency in common Internet tools, Zoom, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience in a software development environment using current technology and software engineering methodologies

  • Experience with the various stages of the software development life cycle (planning, design, coding, testing, and deployment)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of College level teaching experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable industry experience

  • Industry certifications such as Certified Software Engineer, etc.

Rate of Pay: $70,000 -$75,000

Compensation Type: Salary at 1.0 Full-Time Equivalency (FTE)
