We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the role of Manager of Data & Analytics, with a distinct focus on merging the worlds of data analytics and sneaker culture at Foot Locker. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our business and operational strategies. This role will collaborate & build partnerships with the stakeholders across Retail Intelligence business functions, with focus across MP&A (Merchandising, Planning and Allocation), Supply Chain, and Stores .

Your role will define insights derived from data analysis, statistical modelling, and complex data querying, all while keeping a finger on the pulse of Foot Locker’s Lace Up Plan Strategy. By leveraging these insights, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategy, defining product capabilities, and contributing to the development of next-generation business solutions. This position sits at the crossroads of customer expectations, intelligent automation, business processes, inventory constraints, and product optimization, requiring a blend of vision, analytics, and influence to shape our products, pricing, and inventory planning engines for years to come.

  • Setting up a strong foundation driving consistency, reliability and accuracy of data and analytics in an ever changing fast paced environment.
  • Enable accurate, up to date, trustable data access to the stakeholders via business intelligence & dashboarding tools.
  • Deliver insights & recommendations driving actions & value impact to the business.
  • Help build advanced analytics, data science models, AI/ML tools or products leveraged by the business for complex problem-solving use cases.

Responsibilities

Data Foundation, Reporting & Dashboarding

  • Partner with key business executives to transform and synthesize complex requirements and impactful business requests into innovative data and analytic solutions that create business value and unlock insights. Manage end-to-end optimization processes, including prioritization, implementation, measurement, and next-step recommendations
  • Collaborate with team members across Data & Analytics to initiate & drive the data foundational & Business intelligence projects to improve the data quality, veracity, ease of access & delivery of KPIs & insights in the scrum working model.
  • Work with the upstream technology transformation IT leads, architects, and engineers, to evaluate & identify the downstream impact on D&A assets covering large scale to small scale IT projects.
  • Lead the delivery on the impacted D&A assets via testing, validating, and making changes to the data technicalities for ensuring business continuity & operations of D&A products & services managed by D&A function.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the global counterparts on global tools, best practices, and dashboards for Analytics to ensure all relevant data is structured, ingested and available for analytics.
  • Perform diagnostic analysis for resolving bugs or breakdown in the data & analytics products or assets identified, or flagged by business, working with the Data Ops & Engineering team.

Insights, Analysis & Recommendations

  • Analyze and understand business problems leveraging data fundamentals with a focus on root causes, solutions, and opportunities.
  • Identify key business opportunities and provide actionable insights to close gaps, based on various data sources. Investigate, analyze, report and publish the optimization results. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, bias for action & results
  • Provide ad-hoc behavioral analysis utilizing SQL, Power BI, and other analytical toolsets to deliver insights. Support effective decision making by aggregating data from different sources, modeling and visualizing it in an actionable way.
  • Communicate & present complex insights and action recommendations across all levels verbally and written via developing compelling data story telling narratives.
  • Evaluate the holistic impact of the new use case ideas or initiatives proposed by the business functions (or recommend ideas proactively based on the exploratory analysis & insights) using (advanced) analytics, and statistical techniques - as applicable, primarily on ROI expanding on the top line & bottom-line impact along with the CX performance measures.

Data Science, AI/ML Products

  • Support the delivery of Data science and AI/ML projects for NA region closely working with the Data scientists and Data engineers.
  • Analyze the data sources, availability & transformation logic to ensure that the contextually right information is fed into the data preparation layer powering the model.
  • Analyze statistical test results, with R, Python, or comparable mathematical programming languages, and propose appropriate optimizations to achieve revenue/profitability goals. Validate & test the model outputs for identifying functional & performance gaps in the deliverables and recommend ideas or solutions to be brainstormed with the internal team.
  • Translate the complex business needs into tangible data & analytics problem statements & deliverables, defining hypothesis and validating it via exploratory/discovery analysis.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or relevant degree with a minimum 4 years of solid experience in the Data & Analytics domain or relevant esp. delivering large scale enterprise data lakes, BI dashboards, commercial insights & analytics, and data science models.
  • Experience in visualizing data in an easy to understand, actionable and story telling way using reports and dashboards.
  • Data driven mindset is a must. Interpreting data, analyzing results using advanced analytical methods and statistical techniques
  • Strong Working experience in Advanced Data mining & engineering tools: SQL, ETL, Access, Data warehouse, MDM etc.
  • 3+ years of strong hands-on experience in at least one of analytics-oriented programming languages such as Python, Scala, or R.
  • Experience working with dashboarding and data visualization tools, such as PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Google Data Studio & Ms-Excel
  • Excellent communication, organizational & interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of business stakeholders and technical resources.
  • A pro-active and self-motivated approach which includes curiosity and an appetite to add value to the business performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines and with own initiative.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistics, data manipulation, and research methods preferred.
  • B2C experience in (Omni channel) Retail industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with web analytics toolset esp. Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics is desirable.
  • Fluent in English (verbal & written)

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $115000 - $130000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
