Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the preparation of tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculations with a specific focus on the real estate sector.
• Analyze financial statements, perform accounting adjustments, and uphold accurate client records.
• Develop and review intricate tax planning projections for both individual and corporate tax liabilities.
• Ensure timely delivery of client products and adherence to deadlines.
• Prepare and review complex U.S. and state individual income, gift, and estate tax returns.
• Conduct in-depth tax research and draft memoranda detailing findings.
• Address inquiries and audits from the IRS and state agencies effectively.
• Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and IRS representatives on diverse tax matters.
• Lead departmental initiatives in the adoption of software, processes, and best practices.
  
  

Required Skills

• 4-10+ years of relevant experience in real estate tax compliance and advisory services.
• In-depth knowledge of individual tax compliance and planning.
• Thorough understanding of subchapter K and experience in advising real estate investment trusts.
• Proven tax research capabilities (RIA preferred), with experience in gift and estate tax returns being an added advantage.
• Familiarity with partnership taxation is beneficial.
• A friendly, approachable demeanor coupled with a strong team-oriented mindset.
• A proactive attitude with a desire for continuous improvement and growth.
