Job Overview

We are in search of a skilled Data Taxonomy and Governance Consultant specializing in asset management. This fully remote position offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply in data management practices, particularly in creating and sustaining data taxonomies that drive effective governance. Your role will be instrumental in structuring, defining, and organizing data elements critical to the wealth and asset management sector, utilizing your expertise to enhance our data governance platform, Collibra.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and classify a variety of financial assets and products using reference data.
  • Collect comprehensive reference data pertaining to parties, financial institutions, counterparties, and other entities involved in specific transactions.
  • Ensure the standardization of reference data by categorizing similar deals or trades consistently.
  • Detect data gaps and information inconsistencies within and across organizational domains.
  • Map and catalog sector, cluster, and domain data and information assets effectively.
  • Analyze, interpret, and convert reference data from multiple formats into actionable insights.
  • Utilize your subject matter expertise to make informed decisions and draw accurate conclusions from complex data sets.
  • Provide timely and effective support to data product users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Leverage UML, SQL, and programming languages for data analysis and interpretation.
  • Draft Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) as needed.
  • Exhibit knowledge of the software development life cycle and relevant data product technologies.
  • Employ problem-solving skills to pinpoint innovative workflow efficiencies and enhance process improvements.
  • Assist in identifying patterns and root causes of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Participate in various projects aimed at optimizing processes and improving overall data quality.
  • Create visual presentations, charts, and graphs for leadership teams.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Macros, and Excel is preferred.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and prescriptive modeling techniques.
  • Strong comprehension of statistical principles and machine learning algorithms.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in data management and analysis, particularly within wealth and asset management domains.
