Job Overview

Join a prestigious organization that has dedicated over 78 years to serving our nation’s Veterans as an Assistant General Manager - Retail. This remote opportunity allows you to lead a passionate team, ensuring the highest standards of service while fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire exceptional customer service across all retail operations.
  • Uphold superior food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and product availability.
  • Supervise daily activities at the Patriot Café, Patriot Retail, and/or Patriot Brew within the VA Medical Center.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards on a daily basis.
  • Manage inventory, labor costs, and budget in an efficient manner.
  • Conceive and implement effective local promotional strategies.
  • Directly oversee team members and report to the General Manager.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership abilities, with a strong focus on customer service and hospitality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience with POS Systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory management and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of direct management experience in food or retail sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, enhancing profits, and developing staff.
  • Experience in managing inventory, cost control, and P&L operations.
  • ServSafe certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • An Associate Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Management is preferred but not mandatory.
