Job Description

As a Quality Engineer II, you will work closely with Product Owners, Development Teams, Architects, Business Analysts, System Analysts, and Software Engineers to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for planning and executing day-to-day quality assurance and testing activities, analyzing requirements, and mentoring junior QA staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute quality assurance and testing activities.
  • Analyze written requirements, development team analysis, and design artifacts to develop comprehensive testing plans.
  • Mentor and provide on-the-job training to junior QA staff on quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in Quality Assurance, Validation and Testing, and Test Automation.
  • Focus on data management processes and applications, ensuring robust testing of SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, Tableau, and related technologies.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing, including ETL ingestion pipelines, dimensional data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Utilize AWS Redshift/S3 and related cloud services for testing and validation.
  • Implement data monitoring and observability tools (such as Soda) to ensure data integrity and quality.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in leading industry test automation and test management tools, preferably Selenium.
  • Strong understanding of QA processes within the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and data management tools.
  • Experience with data monitoring and observability tools and processes.
  • Industry certifications (CSQA, CMSQ, ISTQB Fundamental, etc.) are preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and strong research and analytical skills.
  • Good time management skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to learn new technologies and understand complex instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle moderately complex issues, referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Quality Assurance/Control, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
