Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager based in Oakland, CA. This role involves leading significant rail/transit project delivery and managing various project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of significant rail/transit project delivery.
  • Manage and prepare transportation project teams.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
  • Perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input on engineering budgets and schedules.
  • Establish relationships with local agencies and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Work with external contractors/consultants and interact with clients locally and globally.
  • Manage staff and tasks associated with rail/transit contracts.
  • Support various rail services related to major rail capital programs.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget on multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Lead meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior to mid-level staff.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans.
  • Investigate, negotiate, and resolve project issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience/education, including 2 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in organizational development and leadership; client service management; and delivery of program management, design, or construction management services for large-scale transportation/transit projects.
  • 5 years of experience managing large complex rail transit projects, including design management during construction.
  • Experience interfacing with state and local jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant software programs.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in California or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to create grading plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, or OpenRail.
  • Familiarity with plan/profile creation for rail projects.
  • Experience in managing task budgets and schedules.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • In-depth Quality Control and Quality Assurance experience in project management.
  • Ability to inspire innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • High organizational ability, capable of pivoting to meet changing project needs.

Additional Information

  • Travel is required.
  • Sponsorship and relocation are available.
  • Compensation (California locations) is based on education, qualifications, experience, and location, with a salary range of \(155,000 - \)220,000.
