The Role
As a Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer in this fully remote role based in India, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product management, and leadership across different regions, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our applications and services. This role requires deep technical expertise in coding, system architecture, and infrastructure design, along with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to mentor and build a cohesive engineering team. You will be responsible for maintaining production systems, building tooling, and supporting core infrastructure, while also contributing to compliance, monitoring, and observability efforts to support the global operations of an impressive and growing platform that powers hundreds of thousands of websites, millions of containerized resources, and billions of monthly page views.

- Working on advanced globally scaled implementations of Content Management systems, mostly consisting of WordPress and Drupal CM, but also custom customer needs using the latest in Google Cloud platform offerings.
- Working on a large scale orchestration platform serving millions of containers, using lower level Linux systems like systemd/cgroups directly.
- Administering, developing and maintaining standardization and configuration state management with industry best practices in Kubernetes, Terraform, Various GCP tools and Services, Vault etc.
- Using Observability tools such as Grafana to monitor platform performance and server fleet health, ensuring real-time observability and actionable insights across our infrastructure.
- Close collaboration with the wider engineering team to both deliver platform improvements and provide subject-matter-expertise for other technical initiatives
- Owning your team’s production systems, measure and track their health with SLO’s, and assist our dedicated support team to resolve production issues
- Continuous improvements to our standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for coding, testing, deploying and communication
What you need to Succeed
- Strong understanding and work experience developing in GoLang or Python along with an understanding of automated testing.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems administration.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and release management.
- Work-related experience with large-scale, high-traffic platforms.
- Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
- Experience with infrastructure-level monitoring, alerting, escalation, and production support.
- Developing and maturing sustainable systems and services through automation.
Bonus Points
- Working knowledge of serverless and event driven development
- Working knowledge of Grafana Cloud, and Prometheus
- Working knowledge of Cassandra, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis
- Working knowledge of React, Node.js, Python, Go
- Working knowledge of Docker, Github Actions or CircleCI, Vault
