Our success is reliant on building teams that include people from different backgrounds and experiences who can elevate assumptions and ideas with fresh perspectives. We're dedicated to hiring the whole human, not just a resume. To that end, we look for a diverse pool of applicants-including those from historically marginalized groups. We would like to invite you to apply even if you don't think you meet all of the requirements listed below. We don't want a few lines in a job description to get between us and the opportunity to meet you.
About the Team
Compute, Observability and Reliability (COR) is focused on providing reliable, scalable and cost efficient infrastructure platform services that enable Outreach engineering teams to deploy and operate enterprise grade cloud services. We are one of the squads in the Foundations organization, which is a collection of squads dedicated to engineering enablement: infrastructure, services, storage, tooling, documentation, processes, and more. COR works closely with many other squads across the company for everything from optimizing our infrastructure costs & engineering efficiency to providing systems to scale our application platform to multiple geographies.
The Role
A Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the COR team is responsible for creating and maintaining our Kubernetes platform as well as cloud configuration and most of Outreach’s infrastructure. Every SRE in our team is expected to be empathetic to our customers (other engineers) and focused on overall performance and reliability of systems we own. A Staff SRE, specifically, is expected to be fully self-reliant and able to independently drive medium sized technical projects.
Our Site Reliability Engineers are usually iterating on our planned projects on a day to day basis. Our main focus is to always ensure that we spend more time improving our platform, making it more performant, scalable and also making it easier for the other software engineers to do their jobs. However, we are occasionally disrupted by urgent circumstances (read: alerts). When confronted with disruptive events, we strive to codify what we've learned and feed that information back into how we plan and prioritize our work.
Location
While we are remote-friendly, we remain an "office-centric" company. The workplace is based in Prague, Czechia.
This is a full-time, permanent role, not eligible for contractors and for work from other countries.
