POSITION DUTIES: American First Finance, LLC seeks Data Scientist (Multiple Openings) to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented languages and visualization software and apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets. This position is hybrid remote/in-office each week. Duties include: Analyze data to support and improve business decisions. Develop and maintain machine learning models for credit, fraud, and marketing scoring. Generate custom reports for presentations for business owners and communicate analysis. Automate common reporting processes and build reporting dashboards using Tableau or Power BI. Maintain, utilize, and improve an existing code base written in R and SQL. Handle intermediate level database management tasks. Develop reproducible reports using Markdown.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related technical field, with the following skills*:
 
  • Querying and database maintenance using SQL, including CTE, UPDATE, and DELETE commands;
  • R programming including data manipulation, plotting data using ggplot, and predictive analysis;
  • Building machine learning models using R or Python;
  • Development of reproducible reports using Markdown
 
Skills may be obtained through post-graduate work experience or the completion of graduate-level course, research project, internship, or thesis
 
LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 3100 Olympus Blvd., Suite 300, Coppell, TX 75019. Hybrid remote/in-office each week.
