What You Will Bring:
You are an experienced insurance product expert in the employee benefits vertical with specific deep subject matter expertise in either dental and vision insurance or life, disability, and supplemental health insurance. You have demonstrated the ability to define and execute product-market fit of insurance products in bespoke markets and have a mastery of how to affect the features of the product to achieve sales velocity. You have experience working with technical product teams, actuarial, legal/compliance, operational teams, sales, and marketing teams to be the intersection of these work streams and drive overall program success. You excel in fostering collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and efficiency in product development and launch processes.
You are an expert in insurance contracts and pricing levers with the ability to build the right product features for a given market segment. You have managed insurance products in the small, mid, and large group space as well as have an understanding of non-employer group structures. You possess a proven track record of utilizing analytics and market research to inform product decisions and enhance competitiveness in the marketplace. You are up to date on industry trends, competitive intelligence, and build successful strategies based on this knowledge. You demonstrate a strong ability to pivot strategies based on emerging trends and regulatory changes, ensuring the product portfolio remains relevant and compliant.
What You Will Do:Define product-market-fit for assigned markets, segments, and products and be accountable to delivering outcomes and features to enable profitable growth goalsResponsible for product launches and coordination with Product and Engineering, Actuarial, Legal & Compliance, Operations, and RevenueLead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives and foster an environment of collaboration and accountabilityDevelop, manage, and adapt insurance product roadmap to meet quarterly and annual outcomes with consideration of the 3-5 year outcomesProvide insurance contract and market trend expertise to develop long term strategies for market access, market expansion, and profitabilityConsult on the insurance structure of specific products including administration, insurance paper, and reinsuranceActively monitor and analyze industry trends and competitive landscapes to drive innovation and inform product development strategiesAct as a consultant to internal teams on insurance matters to provide subject matter expertise and inform on strategiesIncorporate customer feedback and insights into product development to ensure solutions meet market needs and enhance user experienceWhat Skills Will Help You Be Successful:A college degree or equivalent experience in insurance products at employee benefits businesses5+ years experience working with employee benefits products and insuranceExperience owning and developing insurance products from the ground up including contract optimization, managing regulatory filings, pricing and underwriting strategy, and administrative set upExperience partnering with multiple stakeholders across organizations including product and engineering, actuarial, legal and compliance, operations, and revenueExperience working in a customer-centric, product-focussed organizationCritical-thinking skills to operate both tactically and strategicallyOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsStrong project management abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCompensation and Benefits:
