Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) is seeking a Microsoft Azure Security Engineer to implement and optimize our cybersecurity operations. Your responsibilities will include managing compliance requirements and implementing technological controls to ensure the company remains compliant. You will also be involved in managing security alerts from various security platforms and taking guided action when incidents arise, along with interacting with and managing various vendors the company engages with. Your cybersecurity expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail will be critical in improving the company's security posture as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities
- Incident Response: Participate in Incident Response efforts within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including preparation, detection, analysis, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident activities.
- Security Tool Implementation: Deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools and technologies to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other threats within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Security Monitoring: Monitor cybersecurity event logs to distinguish true positives and initiate appropriate responses to identified threats.
- Identity Access Management (IAM): Manage and improve IAM processes and solutions to ensure secure and efficient access control across all systems and platforms within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Data Governance: Develop and enforce policies and procedures for data governance to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of critical data within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Implement and oversee DLP strategies and technologies to prevent unauthorized access to, or disclosure of, sensitive information.
- Security Assessments and Compliance: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure alignment with required security frameworks (e.g., CIS18, HITRUST, NIST) and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement Security Configurations: Implement controls and technologies to meet compliance requirements such as HIPPA, HITRUST, FISMA, etc.
- Process and Workflow Documentation: Document processes and workflows related to cybersecurity practices, including security and identity validation for sensitive transactions.
- Vendor Management: Oversee current vendor relationships and act as the primary point of contact for problems and meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity roles, with a strong focus on security and compliance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert Certification preferred.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, etc.) are preferred.
- Engineering Level Certifications (MCSE, CCNP, etc.) are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Proven experience in Microsoft Azure, particularly in the implementation of Microsoft Azure security features such as Entra features, Defender for Identity, Purview, etc.
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, particularly in areas of incident response, security tool implementation, security monitoring, IAM, data governance, DLP, and compliance.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as CIS18, HITRUST, and NIST.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate the security of systems and to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ability to develop and maintain security documentation and procedures.
- Knowledge of current cybersecurity trends, threats, and techniques for protecting against them.
- Experience with cloud security best practices and technologies to protect critical infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to improve response times to threats.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team to achieve high levels of uptime and security for the organization's infrastructure and critical systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and report to management.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000

The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
