Job Overview: 

The Instructional Designer and Resource Developer will create engaging, learner-centered experiences for high school students studying Business qualifications using the aXcelerate LMS and Articulate. This role focuses on developing interactive and age-appropriate learning and assessment resources, collaborating closely with subject matter experts to ensure content aligns with curriculum standards and is accessible to younger learners. Key responsibilities include writing and updating learner guides and assessments, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and conducting research to incorporate current industry trends. The ideal candidate will ensure that all resources are relevant and meet both academic and professional expectations within the business sector.

Job Description: 
  • Designing learner-centred experiences using the aXcelerate LMS and Articulate to yield highly interactive, engaging, and age-appropriate learning & assessment resources for high school students studying Business qualifications.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop content that aligns with the curriculum, ensuring the material is accessible and relevant to younger learners.
  • Write and update learner guides and assessments, mapping them to relevant criteria, and ensuring they meet compliance standards and high school learners' educational needs.
  • Conduct research to maintain content relevance and incorporate industry trends, ensuring resources remain current and aligned with the academic and professional expectations of the business sector.

Requirements
  • Instructional Design Expertise: Experience in designing learner-centred educational materials, including assessments and interactive learning resources within aXcelerate and Articulate viewed favourably.
  • Knowledge/Interest in Business Education: Ability to translate complex business concepts into age-appropriate and engaging learning experiences.
  • Content Development: Ability to write and update learner guides and assessments and map content to educational outcomes (performance criteria on training.gov.au).
  • Research and Content Curation: Ability to conduct research from relevant and credible sources, ensuring that all learning materials are up to-date, accurate, and aligned with industry trends. The candidate will also be required to provide a bibliography or reference list to accompany all resources developed, ensuring transparency and academic rigour.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills, particularly written English, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas in a way that is accessible to high school students. Strong collaboration skills to work with Managers, teachers and Trainers/Assessors, and other stakeholders to design and update materials.
  • Attention to Detail & Quality Assurance: Strong attention to detail in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance of learning materials. Familiarity with quality assurance processes in an educational context.
  • Understanding of High School Learners: Knowledge of educational psychology and pedagogy related to high school students, with an ability to develop engaging, accessible, and age-appropriate resources.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of resources.
  • Compliance & Accreditation Familiarity: Understanding of compliance requirements for VET courses and experience ensuring that resources meet regulatory standards (e.g., Standards for RTOs, ASQA).
