HDF Energy has a robust project pipeline totaling 5 billion euros globally and operates in over 35 countries across 5 continents. In Asia, projects are being identified and developed in 7 countries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development for Japan : Build and manage relationships with key energy stakeholders (investors, lenders, METI, grid operators, off-takers, etc.) and cultivate partnerships with major players (trading houses, gas utilities, power utilities, etc.).
Project Development : Identify and evaluate high-potential projects, manage land acquisition (or lease), navigate permitting processes, conduct feasibility studies, and secure grid connection approvals.
Investor/Stakeholder Relations : Collaborate with Finance teams to develop and present investment opportunities, supporting decision-making for HDF Energy and its partners.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure continuous compliance with Japanese regulatory and legal frameworks while staying up-to-date with industry trends.
Investor and Lender Engagement : Build strong relationships with domestic investors and lenders to ensure successful project financing.

YOUR PROFILE

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy sector (thermal or renewable power plants), preferably in project development or project finance.
Experience working with utilities and METI.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present at meetings and conferences (French communication skills are a plus, but not a necessity).
Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
An entrepreneurial spirit and autonomy.
Endurance and persistence due to the long-term nature of projects with extended deadlines.
Experience working in the Kyushu and/or Okinawa areas is a plus.
