WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

  • Build sustainable customer relationships to maximize market advantage. This is to be achieved by focusing on the whole value chain, e.g., Developers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Structural and Fire Engineers, Green Consultants, Interior Designers, Main & Sub-contractors, cultivating sustainable relationships at the concept stage through all the project stages to the site level.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities for enhanced specifications, uncovering and understanding these through application of trained techniques, supply chain knowledge, commercial awareness, and in-depth knowledge of customers’ businesses.
  • Ensure profitable development of the project pipeline.
  • Ensure follow-through from specification to application in line with KPI to ensure that you deliver sales revenue for the region.
  • Provide on-site technical support for key customers on project sites within a sales region, working as part of an integrated regional team to drive our product leadership proposition to develop customer satisfaction.
  • Support the QS function in the region, ensuring that projects are serviced professionally from a QS point of view.


IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

The ideal candidate should have 3 years’ experience with a focus in specification/technical sales. The role calls for a candidate who has a diploma or relevant industry qualification in construction or building. Proven technical expert within their field. A proven record in sales/selling techniques and cold calling skills are beneficial. Successful promotion of solutions/specifications. Ensure profitable development of the project pipeline, specifying the range of solutions, including value-add and new products, and actively engaging with specifiers and influencers, such as Developers, Quantity Surveyors, Structural Engineers, and Sub-contractors at the concept stage (PSA 1) to promote Drywall instead of conventional brick or AAC block, thereby creating solid relationships and growing Sub-contractor loyalty. Ability to identify innovative solutions and interpret technical designs and drawings. Knowledge of construction process stages and ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency within a customers’ construction program. Understanding of current market legislation, e.g., SANS 10400 and the Green Star Rated System, and the practical implications and impacts within a business. Supply chain awareness, understanding the process and identifying/targeting opportunities, and good working knowledge of current design packages, e.g., AutoCAD. The candidate should have a valid driver license and should be enthusiastic, energetic, and willing to travel daily. The candidate would need to demonstrate a ‘hunter’ mentality, be proactive, and approach challenges with a positive disposition as well as agility.


TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN

As a Project Manager Specifications you will be responsible for adhering to company reporting procedure/commercial admin systems (CRM), offering appropriate feedback and information always ensuring strict observance to ethical codes of conduct and maintenance of confidentiality. You will be responsible for maximizing specification performance and creating demand for our products and/or systems to drive product proposition as well as drive specification vs. order closure. Demand planning and forecasting for regional projects at the requested date. Successful management of CRM project leads through specifiers where applicable to better track the project pipeline. Achieve a high level of forecast accuracy in line with regional KPIs to ensure stock availability in line with project demands. Responsible for all safety aspects within area of responsibility to ensure a particular focus on improved driving standards and reduce safety incidents. Responsible for training customer base on existing products, new products, and value-added propositions. Assist and/or give presentations to regional teams as necessary, as well as to the customer base, with a focus on all aspects of product/system performance.
