What you’ll be doing...


As a Principal Solutions Architect in Verizon Business, you will act as a technical expert moving sales opportunities forward through technical validation in our CTC labs. You will present, with deep technical and design experience, technology’s business value by executing custom proofs of concepts (POC).

The Verizon Customer Technology Center (CTC) provides our customers with proof-of-concept testing and technical validation that accelerates solution development and solves complex business challenges.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic products and services leveraging the latest technologies such as 5G, AI, IOT, and cloud computing.  You must possess a strong technical foundation , but equally important is your curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning.   


Responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering complex customer requirements.

  • Designing solutions.

  • Proving the solution viability by documenting user stories and test cases.

  • Building lab environments.

  • Running test cases. 

  • Documenting results and presenting to the customer, sales, and presales community.

 
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Architecture Skills.

  • Six or more years of experience in designing and implementing complex LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions for Fortune 500 companies.

  • Proficiency in Lab Testing.

  • Experience with automation of environment and configuration deployments.

  • Advanced technical skills in at least three of the following: Data and IP Services (SDWAN, SASE, SSE), Managed Network Services (LAN, WAN, WLAN), Managed Security Solutions, Data Center, Cloud (Public, Private), and Cellular - 5G PWN. 

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree.

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP , VMware

  • Hardware experience such as: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cradlepoint

  • Application(s) experience: Spirent Test Center, Visio, IXIA.

  • Strong core networks - Internet and MPLS, Wireless - 802.11a-n, 4G/5G, Vmware/ Openstack, WAN Optimization, IPv6.

  • Documentation skills: Lucid Chart, Visio, G-Suite, Atlassian Confluence.

  • Presales Skills.

  • Established industry relationships and active with LinkedIn and other business social connections.

  • Confidence in discussing technical requirements and influencing the customer’s perception of best design.

  • Presentation and value proposition skills and written and oral communication skills..

  • A proven track record of moving sales opportunities forward with technical validation.

  • Ability to bridge business drivers to product functionality through persuasive storytelling in person as well as web-collaboration.
