Job Description

This is a high profile, global leadership position which provides the role holder with an opportunity to reinvent processes to directly benefit customers, colleagues and company performance. The focus is on the practical application of modern methods to deliver tangible positive change and the role holder will be supported to adopt a hands-on, engaging and energetic approach.

The role holder drives IT productivity, efficiency and operations through innovation and project execution. By leveraging Lean techniques, tools and methods through technology solutions, system enhancements and process reengineering, the role holder streamlines and automates processes to improve operational efficiency. The role holder develops and applies data-driven metrics to evaluate the operational effectiveness across all aspects of IT activity and collaborates on improving cross-cutting processes. The role holder will closely collaborate with IT Leaders, Lean Leads in other Functions and a range of other key stakeholders within and beyond IT. Though the role holder will play an important role in championing Lean within IT, this is a delivery role, not a training role.

Responsibilities

  • Lean application:
  • Applies Lean expertise to consult and advise on complex IT processes and workflows worldwide
  • Plans, executes and manages Lean projects to completion
  • Tracks and executes cost reductions from process improvements
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engages with senior leadership to identify, define and prioritize IT critical process improvements
  • Engages with IT Leaders and Subject Matter Experts to contribute to strategic planning and priority setting
  • Advises management on functional progress, status, trends and issues
  • Performance Measurement and Opportunity Identification:
  • Monitors IT activities progress and status, identifying trends and resolving technical and process issues
  • Leads functional continuous process improvement by recommending activities which will benefit from applying Lean tools / technologies
  • Championing Lean adoption:
  • Provides function-wide insight and leadership
  • Communicates Lean philosophy, vision, and expectations to the IT organization
  • Engages employees in Lean initiatives including but not limited to Value Stream Mapping, 6S Organization, and Kaizen cost reductions
  • Regularly coaches and mentors colleagues
  • External Insight:
  • Remains current with evolving Lean methods, industry, process and state-of-the-art technology
  • Researches successful applications of Lean methods in global IT functions and brings this insight to Diebold Nixdorf


Qualifications


Experience:

  • Significant experience as a Lean practitioner or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in working on IT processes, including Systems Development Lifecycle and IT operations would be desirable


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of Lean tools
  • Familiarity with utilizing Lean successfully in an IT function would be desirable
  • Ability to understand and lead implementation of low-level automation
  • Ability to source and analyze complex data and propose changes leading to higher efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent practical problem-solving skills, with a combination of analysis, collaboration and creativity
  • Strong analytical, technical, analysis, and computer skills

  • Self-motivated to implement goals with minimal supervision
