Middle Big Data Software Engineer (Azure Synapse)

Our client is one of the biggest Canadian companies (including retail, banking, gas stations, etc.). We have been working with them for over seven years.

Our project is within the Business Intelligence and Data Mart team which is focused on Data analytics, data migration, and data consistency. The work will involve several types of engagements: the initial phase of project start (discovery type) and further going through projects until production release. The funded projects are separate projects within one data stream.

The projects' mission is an initial intake of new requests from the Data Portfolio Management team, requirements elicitation for Data Leads, Architects, and Data Stewards, data analysis, and forming technical requirements in the form of JIRA description or MDDS (technical requirements) and further through delivery to production.

IF YOU ARE

• Experienced with 2+ years as a Big Data Engineer
• Proficient in structured query language (SQL)
• Strong in Azure Synapse engineering
• Knowledgeable in Spark and Python
• Experienced with data warehousing and data engineering
• Familiar with ETL, ELT concepts, and data streaming toolsets
• Skilled in data modeling and data warehousing patterns
• Solid in data analysis and data profiling
• Knowledgeable of Azure Synapse principles
• Capable of maintaining daily communication with English-speaking software engineers at an intermediate English level or higher
• Experienced with Hadoop and Data Lake (as an advantage)
• Skilled in Scrum framework (as a plus)
