The Director of Sustainability role is critical in the identification and management of sustainability risks and opportunities relevant to the Telix Group. You will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation strategies and plans that help drive Telix towards long-term sustainable success and resilience. Success in the role will result from effective cross-functional collaboration to promote achievement and progress in the Group’s five pillars of sustainability: Purpose; People; Performance; Principles; Planet (the “5Ps”). This is a high visibility role within the organization, with the opportunity to collaborate with senior and executive leaders across the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Planning and delivery
    • Develop and implement a 5Ps strategy aligned with Telix’s mission, purpose and objectives.
    • With business unit leaders identify and prioritise sustainability initiatives in alignment with the Group’s short, medium and longer-term goals, including setting targets and KPIs to measure success in sustainability initiatives.
  • Stakeholder engagement
    • Collaborate with internal teams - including communications, operations, asset development, global services, and others - to integrate sustainability thinking into business planning, decision making and operations.
    • In collaboration with the corporate communications team, engage with external stakeholders, including community organisations, regulatory agencies and industry groups, to promote sustainability relevant initiatives.
  • Culture
    • Promote a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.
    • Develop training programs to educate employees on matters including sustainability, sustainability practices and the importance of environmental stewardship. .
  • Reporting and compliance 
    • Monitor and report on sustainability performance metrics.
    • Monitor and report on compliance with environmental regulations.
    • Prepare sustainability reports for stakeholders highlighting achievements and future goals.
  • Resource efficiency
    • With relevant business unit leaders design and implement programs related to energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, as well as sustainable procurement.
    • Foster innovation in sustainable resourcing practices and explore new technologies and methodologies to support same.
    • Drive efforts to reduce the Group’s carbon footprint and enhance resource efficiency.
  • Continuous improvement
    • Stay informed on sustainability trends, best practices and regulatory changes.
    • Conduct research and analysis to support sustainability initiatives and drive improvements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science or related field/s. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in environmental management or sustainability roles globally, with a track record of leadership and strategic impact required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with biopharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability practices and global environmental regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence organisational change, analyse data, develop actionable insights and drive performance improvements.
  • Relevant certifications in sustainability or environmental management are highly desirable.
  • Up to 15 percent travel.
