If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). This role is critical in maintaining and elevating the standard of our software products. We're looking for an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) who is not only passionate about software testing but also has a strong inclination towards harnessing automation to achieve software perfection. In this role, the individual will work closely with various tech teams and business groups. The tasks will involve pinpointing specific testing requirements, exploring and adopting new testing techniques, and making sure these techniques are seamlessly integrated and performed effectively.

What you’d be doing:

  • Test throughout a project's lifecycle, which includes developing, executing, and verifying test cases to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with the development team to prioritize automation and build complete test suites for optimal software quality.
  • Define clear stories with precise acceptance criteria when involved in a scrum team.
  • Evaluate test outcomes to spot, record, and report any flaws or configuration problems. Pinpoint automation potential and create automated tests for relevant test types.
  • Report on test progress, outcomes, and other essential details to stakeholders and management.
  • Establish the process for tracking software defects and use defect tools to identify patterns and suggest solutions.
  • Offer testing effort estimates to project management for planning and scheduling.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in automated testing for web applications and backend services.
  • In-depth knowledge of system testing best practices, and an eye for identifying test coverage areas for enhancement.
  • Skilled in writing clear, concise, and detailed test plans and cases.
  • Proven experience in embedding test automation within CI/CD processes.
  • Proficient with tools like Selenium, Python, Open API, Git, and Jira.
  • Capable of working in fast-paced environments, coordinating with remote teams, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Quality-driven professional leveraging development tools like Jira and Gitlab to bolster team collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent industry experience is required.
  • Expert with 5-7 years of hands-on testing experience in agile setups.
  • Experience in automated script design, coding, and maintenance.
  • Clear understanding of REST API.
  • Familiarity with REST, SOAP, and JSON standards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Insurance and/or Financial Industry experience.
  • Experience in performance, load, and security testing methodologies and tools.
