Our values anchor our daily decisions and interactions with our customers, communities, and each other. Join our inclusive culture in one of the most rapidly-growing segments in travel. Find your home at Evolve.

The Senior Application Engineer will play a critical role in our mission to optimize and streamline our HR processes and systems. As a key member of the Technology team, this role will be responsible for owning, managing, and enhancing our People systems and their related integrations. You will be at the forefront of transforming our HR technology landscape to better support our ambitious operational goals.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about building robust, scalable solutions in a dynamic, high-growth environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, implement, and maintain critical integrations across various HR systems, ensuring seamless data flow and process efficiency. Your work will directly impact the employee experience across the organization by improving the tools and technologies that support our People and culture.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in various HRIS systems and integrations, with a strong understanding of HR processes, data management, and compliance requirements. You should be comfortable with hands-on technical work, have a keen eye for detail, and possess a problem-solving mindset. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with HR, IT, and other cross-functional teams, ensuring our People systems are aligned with our strategic priorities and operational needs.

This fully remote role is open to candidates located anywhere in the US.

What you’ll do

HR Systems Management

    • Partner to deliver forward-thinking, scalable technology solutions, features and enhancements for our HR department with a key focus on data integrity.
    • Ensure robust understanding of requirements, solution design, change management, testing, implementation and ongoing support/maintenance for HR technology needs.
    • Proactively communicate and collaborate with HR to understand business challenges and prioritize opportunities to address those challenges with technology.
    • Partner with technology teams to understand and communicate impacts of technology changes to HR teams.
    • Partner cross functionally with technology teams to understand and communicate impacts of HR technology changes within Evolve.
    • Manage and maintain internal HR systems, including core HR, recruiting, and employee experience platforms
    • Oversee all HR operations processes, driving efficiency, improving service levels, and promoting self-service capabilities
    • Lead discussions to prioritize HR systems projects, enhancements, and new functionalities based on organizational needs

Application Support & Maintenance

    • Provide a first line of support by proactively reporting, communicating and addressing system issues partnering with both internal teams and external vendors
    • Implement and integrate software between various business applications and Workday using Workday’s API, EIB, and reporting tools
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to software integrations
    • Skilled in integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio) and reporting (Report Writer, Advanced Reporting)
    • Manage data feeds between core HR solutions and external vendors, including payroll, benefits, 401(k), (de)provisioning, employment verification, and unemployment services
    • Expert in troubleshooting techniques and able to resolve issues independently without predefined processes.
    • Manage testing processes and release communications
    • Ensure the right controls are in place to ensure reliable data and system performance
    • Become a technical/IT expert in our HR systems, integrations and understanding impacts of changes
    • Work with the IT and Security teams to address any security findings and understand/implement technology changes required to comply with PCI, SOX, Data Privacy, etc

What makes you a great fit

  • 5+ years of experience in information technology or HR systems
  • Expert in administering Workday HR systems, including advanced proficiency in platforms such as SAP, Oracle, ADP, and others.
  • Proven experience in managing and integrating HR systems, with a focus on ensuring seamless data flow and process efficiency across multiple platforms
  • Experience in designing and executing end-to-end integration processes, including data feeds to and from external vendors such as payroll, benefits, and employment verification systems
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion, considering both the technical and strategic aspects of HR system implementations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on diagnosing and resolving integration and system issues independently
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
  • Familiarity with building scalable solutions that can support a growing and geographically distributed workforce
  • Self-assured and have a high tolerance for ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple competing priorities while continuing to advance critical initiatives
  • Ability to gain trust through effective communication and delivering on commitments
