Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Narrative Designer to join our studio and our next AAA project, working on a dark, story-driven 'Narrative Adventure'. Working alongside the Lead Narrative Designer as well as Writing and Design teams, you will play a meaningful role in the marriage of storytelling with game design.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for an ambitious individual looking for their next challenge and are looking to help drive the quality of the narrative design and the gameplay integration of narrative focused systems.

Ideally we would love individuals to be based in the studio for 1-3 days per week, but we may consider those who have a preference for remote working in the UK.

What you'll be doing:
  • Work closely with the Lead Narrative Designer to contribute to the game’s overall story development.
  • Work with Level and Game Design to craft and own scenarios which deliver on narrative intent and eloquent story beats through gameplay.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and carry out opportunities for environmental storytelling.
  • Help to identify the best narrative technique for each storytelling opportunity.
  • Help to build and craft the wider lore of the game.
  • Review the game to identify areas for narrative improvement and specify what those improvements could be.
  • Take ownership of gameplay dialogue, including implementation.
  • Champion narrative branching across the project, helping to craft satisfying choices and branches.
What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is currently working at a Senior level, or someone who is working at an intermediate level and is looking to take the next step in their career.

  • Proven narrative game development experience.
  • Outstanding knowledge of storytelling technique and structure, including branching.
  • Passionate about delivering the very best player experience.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Unreal Engine experience is beneficial.
  • A knowledge of Articy or similar industry standard branching narrative tool is beneficial.
