The Sr. Director, Head of Enterprise Architecture function is a critical role responsible for harmonizing enterprise level technology, program, and business strategies to help achieve the key organizational goals.
He/she is a senior technology leader who defines the technology direction for Fortrea in accordance with the CTO’s strategic vision. He/she leads a team of Enterprise Architects engaged in a wide variety of technology-based initiatives ranging from individual projects to major initiatives that reshape the technology outlook of the organization.
He/she drives the definition of technology standards for the enterprise and is responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of the Enterprise Architecture repository.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Acts as the consultant for cross-program and cross-project technology strategies, as well as general technology trends across the industry and beyond
- Drive application and platform rationalization across the enterprise
- Models Enterprise Architecture data assets and their visualization
- Is an advocate for the agreed upon technology choices of the enterprise
- Builds relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of individuals within the enterprise (IT and Operations), external vendors, and customers alike
- Leads, manages, and motivates team members to support objectives and mission and to achieve goals set out (even if not direct reports)
- Leads and manages the Architecture Review Board, its deliverables, and its outcomes. Maintains an up-to-date repository of all ARB decisions, including technical debt
- Works in a lean organization and creatively tackles problems using colleague networks and publicly available solutions; work independently and successfully in a matrix environment; and prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Works in fast-paced, team-oriented and self-directed entrepreneurial environment
- Aligns the Enterprise architecture team to critcical strategic programs
- Things strategically and possesses the ability to communicate a vision and drive results
- Is very detail oriented and highly organized with a strong business/technical acumen
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, an innovative approach to problem-solving, and a strong work ethic
- Defines the enterprise technology vision tailored to Fortrea business needs
- Acts as the Solution Architect for engagements of high complexity
- Coordinate with governance teams to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
- Represents the Fortrea technology organization at technology conferences and industry gatherings
- Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience (Minimum Required):
- At least 15 years of experience in technology – 10 as an Enterprise Architect.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience in a Clinical Research Organization or healthcare-related industry.
- TOGAF Certification
- SAFE / Agile
