Description

 

VitalSource®, is hiring a Manager, Shipping and Logistics to contribute to our Customer Operations team located in Raleigh, North Carolina or remotely in the U.S. If located in Raleigh, this is a hybrid role that includes a combination of in-office days and remote work.

 

We are hiring! We are adding a manager to our Customer Operations team who will focus on the entire returns and inventory process while also managing a team involved in the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for receiving, processing, and disposition of returned inventory.
  • Oversee inventory levels, adhering to department-specific standards and ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Manage the non-returnable inventory and disposal process, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with managing "risky" inventory, developing strategies to minimize losses.
  • Will establish the SOP’s for monitoring returns as well as coordinating the execution of the return and tracking the returns percentages for all publishers
  • Coordinate returns information with inventory purchasing group to highlight areas of high returns and excess inventory
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date publisher profiles and invoice information within the database.
  • Reconcile credit memos and chargebacks, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of chargebacks for future reference and analysis.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments (e.g., Finance, Sales) to secure required services for project completion.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on various returns-related projects, providing insights into trends and performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the returns process, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a returns or inventory management role.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and database management software.
  • Travel Requirement: 15-25%

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Salary Range: $85,000 to $95,000
