Title: Finance Coordinator/Bookkeeper

Position Type: Full-time 

Reporting Location: In-Person (Carlsbad, CA)

Schedule: 8am-5pm PST, Mon-Fri 

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000/year

Reports to: Associate Director of Finance 

OVERVIEW 

Verdani Partners is seeking a Finance Coordinator/Bookkeeper to support Verdani’s finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures. Our ideal candidate is someone that is well organized, detail oriented and has strong time management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Primary: 

  • File and maintain Verdani’s accounting and business records 

  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, monitoring and recording day to day financial transactions, while ensuring GAAP requirements are being met 

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports 

  • Assist with accounts payable by processing invoices, tracking payments, and ensuring timely payments to vendors 

  • Support accounts receivable, including invoicing clients, monitoring collections, and following up on outstanding payments 

  • Support Verdani’s cost analysis processes and reports with data entry 

  • Assist with payroll processing on a bi-weekly basis, including submission of payroll tax filings 

  • Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts 

  • Respond to internal and external finance and accounting related inquiries or requests 

Secondary: 

  • Support with ad-hoc finance projects 

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tax filings 

  • Contribute to the development of finance SOPs 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field 

  • 1-2 years work experience 

  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality 

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices 

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Strong communication, both oral and written 

PLATFORMS & SOFTWARE 

Required: 

  • Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or their equivalents 

  • Accounting software such as QuickBooks Online 

Preferred: 

  • Collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams, Slack or comparable tools 

  • Project management solutions such as Monday.com, ClickUp, or similar alternatives 

  • Expense Management software such as Expensify 

  • Payroll/HRIS software such as Trinet, Zenefits, ADP, or their counterparts 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

During the execution of job responsibilities, the employee should expect the following conditions and demands associated with the role:  

  • Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer  

  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers 

  • Occasional light to moderate lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be necessary 

  • Close vision requirements due to computer work 

  • Adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and/or on the telephone 

  • Ability to move objects weighting up to 10 pounds occasionally  

  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting where moderate noise levels may be present.
