Job Description
The Associate Product Manager – Specialty Vehicle oversees the implementation of state insurance programs including rates, rules, and forms. Accountable for delivering top line growth and bottom-line profitability across all distribution channels in assigned state or states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of resources, ensuring work is aligned to department goals, and monitors and communicates performance.
- Maintains and grows a relationship between NGIC Insurance and potential or current policyholders, along with ensuring employees understand and support the brand.
- Capitalizes on strategies and tactics recommended by more experienced personnel for product structures and web functionality changes.
- Analyzes data and implements product changes with guidance in order to meet expectations for profitability, conservation, refinement and geographic expansion of existing business and implementation of any new product structures.
- Communicates and coordinates state and product efforts with IT, Sales, Compliance, Marketing, Finance, Claims, Actuarial, and other areas both within the division and throughout the enterprise.
- Ensures that all state and product initiatives are compliant with regulations and holds ownership of state rate and rule manuals including DOI filing creation and support.
- Monitors competitive and regulatory activities within the marketplace.
- Works with product analyst resources to drive business growth and profitability.
- Maintains state compliance and competitiveness regarding policy forms and coverage.
- Works with Project Implementation team, Product Management and Sales to coordinate product launches.
Education & Experience (Motorcycle Insurance Products Candidate):
- 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred).
- 3 years Product Management or 5 or more years of Pricing Analyst experience (Preferred).
- Exposure to Motorcycle (MC) insurance products (Preferred).
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Education & Experience (Recreational Vehicle Insurance Products Candidate):
- 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred).
- 3 years Product Management or 5 or more years of Pricing Analyst experience (Preferred).
- Exposure to Recreational Vehicle (RV) insurance products (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Functional Skills:
- Understanding of insurance product design, mathematical underpinnings of rating algorithms, and some general insurance policy coverage concepts.
- Strong analytical skills and data mining techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- An independent thinker as well as a challenger/advocate to ensure the soundness of product and pricing.
- High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Negotiation skills to resolve differences while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Proven leadership, influencing and negotiation skills in a highly matrixed environment.
- Proven ability to cultivate an active network of highly visible external relationships in order to meet business and strategic goals.
Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 130,300.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
